How to photograph a jumping castle for your listing

Your photos are the whole shop window — buyers decide in seconds whether to tap your listing. You don’t need a fancy camera; a phone and a few basics will make your castle stand out and sell faster.

1. Inflate it fully — always

Never list a castle photographed rolled up in a bag. Set it up and shoot it standing, firm and full. A pile of vinyl says “problem”; a bright, inflated castle says “ready to bounce.”

2. Shoot in good light

Outdoors, in daylight. Soft overcast light or the golden hour (early morning, late afternoon) is ideal. Avoid harsh midday shadows, and never shoot into the sun — keep it behind you so the castle’s colours pop.

3. Take these shots

• The hero: the whole castle from a step back, at a slight three-quarter angle, crouched a little lower than eye level. This is your cover photo.
• Straight-on front so buyers see the shape and entrance.
• Inside the bouncing area and any slide or features.
• Close-ups of the seams, floor and any wear — showing honest condition builds trust and cuts wasted viewings.
• The blower, including its rating label (kW) if you can.
• Everything included — pegs, groundsheet, carry bag, repair kit — laid out together.

4. Clean and tidy first

Wipe the castle down and clear the background — no washing lines, bins, garden clutter or people in the frame. A clean castle on tidy ground looks cared-for and worth the money.

5. Keep it steady and level

Hold the phone level (not tilted), tap the screen to focus on the castle, and keep still so it’s sharp. Blurry photos get scrolled past.

6. Don’t over-edit

Skip the heavy filters. Buyers want to see the real colour and condition — an over-edited photo just makes them suspicious the castle looks worse in person.

7. Lead with your best

Your first photo is the cover buyers see in the grid, so put your strongest hero shot first. Then add the detail and honesty shots behind it.
