How to sell your used jumping castle fast

A good listing sells in days; a bad one sits for weeks and gets lowballed. The difference is almost never the castle — it’s the price, the photos and the description. Here’s how to sell fast and for a fair price.

1. Price it right

Overpricing is the number-one reason a castle sits unsold. A good second-hand unit sells for 40–60% of its new price — a medium castle that’s R14 040 new usually fetches R5 620 – R8 420 used. 2. Take great photos

3. Write an honest, detailed description

Buyers scroll past vague ads. Include:

• Size — real dimensions (e.g. 3.75 m × 4 m) and the category.
• Age and use — how old, and whether it was home-use or commercial rentals.
• Condition — the vinyl, seams and floor, honestly. Mention any repairs.
• Blower — included or not, and the size (kW). This is the first thing buyers ask.
• What’s included — pegs, groundsheet, carry bag, repair kit.
• Why you’re selling — a simple honest reason builds trust.

4. Bundle the extras

A castle with a healthy blower and accessories sells faster than one without — buyers want a ready-to-go package, and a missing blower is a R3 565–R4 945 problem they’ll haggle over.

5. Reply fast

Buyers message several sellers at once. The one who answers first usually gets the sale. Keep an eye on your enquiries and reply the same day.

6. Clean it up first

Wipe it down and let it dry fully before photographing. A clean, dry castle photographs better and reassures buyers it was looked after (and it prevents the mould that scares buyers off).

7. List it where local buyers look

Pick the right category and your correct province so nearby buyers — who can collect easily — actually find it.
